It took about an hour and fifteen minutes for my German placement test. I am so glad I took it, because Beginning German I really would have been too basic for me. Ms. Weinert said that I could take Intermediate German, but I decided just to take Beginning German II. I want to get more familiar with the material from Beginning German II before I go on to something more advanced.

Ms. Weinert is very nice, and since she's from Germany she is of course quite familiar with the language and German culture. I think I am going to enjoy having her as a teacher. Classes are on Wednesday evenings and start next week!

While I was there, I also signed up for the first short session (half the fall semester) of "College Student Success." It will be good to learn more about how college works and my options. And maybe I'll be able to take another class, like "Intro to Computers," online during the second short session.

So my schedule is:

• Ballet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. -12:50 p.m.
• College Student Success on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 - 2:20 p.m. (first short session)
  
• German on Wednesdays from 6:00-8:40 p.m.

This is all how it stands right now, but you never know! It might change again!

On Monday afternoon, I thought that I knew what classes I would take at CPCC and what time they were. But it's not over yet!

On Monday evening I got an email from my German teacher, encouraging students who have had some German before to take a placement test with her to see if they should be in a more advanced class. Mom and I thought that since I haven't had much experience speaking German, I should stick to the beginning class. My teacher, however, said that people who have had German before have been bored in that class.

Hmm. I don't want to be bored. So Mom and Dad said to go ahead and take the placement test.

A different class will change my class schedule, of course. Both of the more advanced classes are one evening a week. Mom and Dad said that wouldn't be a problem.

So I'm taking a test today at 2:00, and we'll see which class I get in!
