Ready to go.

I activated my phone today. So now I have a number! It was a long process. While she was registering online, Mom accidentally typed in the wrong home phone number and had to go back a screen, and that messed up the process so we had to call customer service. Poor Mom ... she waited for half an hour to talk to someone. And then it turned out that the process had actually worked even though it said there was an error; all we had to do was turn off the phone and then turn it back on and the minutes were there.

After I got my phone number, I decided to set up my voicemail. The website that told you how to set it up was not working correctly. Mom suggested that my voicemail number is my own cell phone number, and she was right. The problem is that once you call the number, they give you the instructions by speaking. I really dislike those automated tutorials. Twice I did the wrong thing and had to start over. I still don't know exactly what I was doing wrong, because when Mom tried it, it worked the first time. But it works now! I only used up nine units of time (out of the twenty I had originally...).

Despite all the difficulties setting up my phone, I love it! (My phone is just for emergencies and for calling Mom and Dad and Emily. But it's still really cool. )

And now that I have my phone, I am starting to anticipate starting classes on Tuesday. I have all my books. I'm trying to figure out where to put everything in my messenger bag. I know, I know, it's not for three more days, but I want to be prepared! Tomorrow Monday evening Mom is going to take Emily and me down to Central campus so we can look at where exactly our classes are and where to eat and where to meet each other after class and stuff like that.

Thank you so much, Mom!!!
