My first day of college classes went well. When Mom dropped Em and me off, there were so many people on the sidewalk walking between classes that I was afraid I'd lose Emily in the crowd! Anyway, I didn't and she was fine and I got to ballet class all right.
I really enjoyed ballet. There's one guy in the class, which is a little strange after what I'm used to. All the rest of the girls are college-age or high school. We did all the basic movements at the barre, like plies and tendus and things that I know how to pronounce but not how to spell. We did basically everything that I've learned to do at the barre plus some other things that I'd never heard of. We also stretched and did some combinations at center. The class is going to be challenging for me, but I think I'm going to enjoy it.
I ate lunch (which I made at home) at Overcash in the Bojangles. On Thursday I'll eat at the IT building so I don't have to walk all the way down to Overcash and then back to IT.
My college success class was scheduled to begin about twenty minutes after I finished eating lunch. I sat at one of the tables on the second floor of the IT building and tried to do some of my homeschool, but I couldn't concentrate! When it was almost time for class, I rode the elevator up to the fourth floor. The classroom wasn't open when I got up there, but I thought for sure the teacher would open it at 1:30, when the class was supposed to start. Turns out that security forgot to open up the room, and they didn't open it until 1:50. So our 50-minute class was down to half an hour. When we got inside, the teacher introduced herself and then asked each of us to talk for a minute about ourselves. (Mrs. Sanders is also a public speaking teacher.

) That was just about all we had time for.
Mom picked me and Em up outside the IT building. We headed over to Morris Costume to get a new pair of ballet slippers and a pair of tights for class.
