7:05 PM

hello there ...

My week has been busy! I've worked in the morning yesterday and today. Today Tyler came to pick up some bagels for the Northlake FSU ... I was like, "Hi ... um ... what are you picking up? Oh. You know Hannah, right? ... Yeah, she works here too. Okay."   lol. Some day I might show up at some other Chick-fil-A ...

I'm about to go back to Chick-fil-A (riding along with Mom when she picks up Wes from work). Yes, that's pretty much my second home now.

I'm going to be taking German at CPCC this summer. I haven't registered yet though ... it was pretty funny because I registered this morning and saw that I owed over $1000 for just that one class. What in the world?! I dropped the class. Turns out it was because I am still classified as a "non-resident" student (since I was in the concurrent enrollment program). I'll have to go to campus to change my status and then register again. Then I can pay $42 per credit hour instead of over $200!

Isn't it neat how, sometimes, one picture can capture your mood?

Yes. I am still alive.

I am alive and doing very well. I have just been so busy that I haven't had time to post! But today I am posting because I just got some exciting news ... before you get too excited, I'll tell you that it's nothing huge. It's just that my math teacher exempted me from the final exam for college algebra because I did so well in the rest of the tests, quizzes, homework, and project. I am so relieved that I don't have to take that test! Thank you Lord! I do have to stop by his office though. I have to pick up a $25 book scholarship that I won from the "problem of the week" contest through CPCC.

Yahooo!!!!!!!!!!

God is good.

I'm just about finished with school now. All I have left is British literature ... that will give me more time to do things for fun ... like post on my blog!

Happy Birthday, Anna!

Anna is 17 today!

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ."  Colossians 3:23-24

Sister, this verse describes you. Everything you do - work, school, dance - is done with diligence and excellence. You do everything to the best of your ability, never half-heartily. You do everything for the Lord.
I love you, Anna.
Happy birthday!

Your sister, Emily

that should take care of the spam?

Emily and I have been getting lots of spam comments on our blogs lately by a ringtone site. I told Mom that it doesn't make sense, considering that I require image verification for posts. Mom was looking over my shoulder as I was telling her and she said "What's that?" What? Oh, that. "Manage spam filtering" on the blog homepage. Hmm.... maybe I should try that. So I signed up and hopefully it will work.

I am off work today! I did a lot of school ...

My verse for today was Job 23:14: "For he will complete what he appoints for me, and many such things are in his mind." This verse reminded me that God is in control of my schedule. He knows what he has planned for me today, and he will help me do whatever it is that he wants me to do. That's a great thought.

it's April!

  • Mood: la vaca (the cow.... )
Yes, well, duh, Anna, it's been April for five days now. Don't worry. I know that. I just mean that now that it's April, I can talk about work!

So things are still moving along with my training. I've learned how to do a lot more things. I just need to get a manager's number to cancel transactions and I'll be able to do pretty much everything. But I still have a lot to learn.

For example, today Mr. B. had me train Lori, our newest employee, on the register. I was surprised that he asked me because I haven't had any training on how to train! I basically just showed her some buttons on the register and then did some role-playing with her. I'd love to be taught just how to do that.

Anyway, I stayed almost an hour late this afternoon to count drawers. I'm pretty sure I counted eight of them today. Mr. B. opened this morning and Wilma was closing tonight, but no one else was working today who can count drawers so I did all of them. After counting that many drawers your mind tends to go numb.

I'm going to go relax and watch the basketball game.

ballet

Today's ballet class was quite encouraging. I did a double pirouette for the first time! (For all you non-dance folks out there, a pirouette is a turn that you do on one foot. A double pirouette means that you turn around twice before landing. )

I love ballet. I want to take it next semester too, even if Miss Katharyn is the teacher.

On Sunday we girls and Mom all went to see the ballet "Cinderella." That was amazing. I wish I could dance like them ... oh well. In heaven I will be able to dance better than anyone can on earth!

Wednesday again?

Wednesdays are really tiring for me. That's because I don't work on Wednesdays. That means that I have the whole day to do school, and I usually do so much school that it wears me out and I just want to go to bed. It's not 8:00 yet, but I can't wait to go to sleep.

Hopefully I won't sleep through my alarm tomorrow like I did on Tuesday. That was the strangest thing ... when my alarm went off at 6:15 I didn't even hear it. Mom heard it, but she assumed that I decided to sleep longer. So ... I finally woke up at 7:00. Oops! I was still on time for CPCC though.

Mom and I went to Aveda this morning to get our hair cut. Mine is not a lot shorter, but it does look different and I like it. Mom's is nice too.

Oh yes ... I wanted to announce Allyson's blog! (You did a great job on it, Allyson!) For those who don't know ... Allyson is Adrienne's sister and my penpal whom I met five years ago when my family went on a trip out west. She's a lot of fun.

I'm going to go and do a little more school before bed.

taxes are fun ... oh yes

I am not complaining about doing my income tax. Dad did it with me online for free and it actually wasn't hard. And I'm going to get my refund, although it's a small one (hey, I didn't earn that much last year), by direct deposit sometime next week.

Public schools are off today. I have school to do. I really don't mind, because I got Good Friday off. Besides, if I didn't have school I would have nothing to do.

The NCAA tournament is quite exciting. Even though my team is out. I guess I'll just root for their arch rival, the Tar Heels ... if they're the only ACC team left, does it matter if I cheer them on? I think not.

So anyway ... I'm going to have some hot tea and do some more of my Excel homework. Have a great afternoon everyone!
